Annie Bouchard, student/organizer of Saguenay clinicsI was at a dead-end with my mare that had just been diagnosed with a spavin. She had been lame for quite some time and I tried different methods to make her sound, but to no avail. I was NOT getting anywhere. Thankfully, a friend (who was working with Solo for about a year) had spoken to me about her. It has now been 5 years since Solo has given her first clinic in my region (Saguenay). I have been working with her ever since.

Her positive energy, patience, and knowledge make her a highly competant person in her field of expertise. Let's not forget her amazing personality. I would never wish to work with anyone else! My mare has evolved into a superb athlete. piaffe, passage, and collected canter are now possible with the understanding of equine biomechanics that Solo has taught me. Even the most complicated movements are now achieved in a precise and gentle manner. This is what training with Solo is like! I now organize clinics (3-5 per year) for Solo and she continues to share her knowledge with other students in the region. It is very enriching. Thank-you Solo for being a part of our lives, both HUMAN and EQUINE!!!!

I am very blessed to have found Solo Hallé. For years I have been rehabbing horses to give them a second chance, but the final step was always missing. After the physical and mental rehabilitation was completed, I came to understand the importance of applying the principles of biomechanical training. Had he returned to the traditional ways of riding him, all that was gained would be lost. I was lucky enough to cross paths with Solo Hallé, who worked with me and my horse, S. In very little time he was taught to carry himself correctly, lightly, and to move forward on his own, NOT driven or forced into a frame. In no time (once he understood that he would be more comfortable in this method), he evolved from an old, lame, dangerous horse of 20 years of age, into an energetic, willing to please and elegant athlete. We literally DANCE together! He is a now a joy to ride (he was a bit of an outlaw before)! He is now 24 years young and looks like a much younger horse! I must tell you that he was scheduled to be euthanized by his previous owner, as he was so lame and could no longer be ridden. Imagine a PSG level horse, still in the game, at 24! Thank-you Solo!!!
After having had success with S, I came upon Vinney. Vinney was destined to be a much better horse than he was, but the tradional methods of training and veterinary interventions had crippled him. He was a physical and emotional mess! After dealing with his physical and confidence issues, as well as his diet, Solo started us on a journey of biomechanic movement therapy. It has transformed Vinney from an introverted, sore, shut down horse, to a sociable, lovable, love to work partner! As a matter of fact, he loves his work SOOO much, that after one or two days off, he sulks! The work program has taken him from a physical mess (spine protruding, absolutely no muscle development, heavy on the forehand, nervous and spooky), to an elegant, self-carried horse that takes your breath away, as he floats across the ring. His suspension is now given naturally and freely. Now moving naturally, we have finally unlocked the diamond in the rough!!! I truly believe that with Solo's work, we have given my horses a second chance. What a ride!!!!! Thank-you Solo for your unrelenting passion for the horses!!!! |

In Canada, a young and talented professional horse trainer has named her business, «L'Art du Mouvement». Our initial idea was to nominate our own operation Art of Movement, Science of Motion. We opted for Science of Motion and are very comfortable with the thought that Art of Movement, Science of Motion has become an International team effort.
Solo Hallé is deeply committed to the thought that horses need to be prepared biomechanically for the performance. Years earlier, Michael Holmström observed through his «Quantitative Studies on Conformation and Trotting Gaits in the Swedish Warmblood Riding horse» that, «Many promising young horses with excellent gaits fail to learn passage and piaffe, resulting in years of wasted training. It is probably due to insufficient knowledge of the biokinematics of the collection. Most dressage manuals describe the training of passage and piaffe, but very few explain how the horses perform them» (1994). The remark can be extended to simpler movements such as flying change, shoulder-in, half pass, circle, and even an effort as simple as moving forward carrying a rider. Books, as well as judging standards, describe how the movement needs to be presented in the show ring. Solo teaches her students how to prepare the horse's physique efficiently for the performance. She also trains her horses, focusing on their physical education. Solo relies heavily on the knowledge made available by the Science of Motion, coming each winter to Florida, to work with Jean Luc. |

Solo is a very highly qualified and talented trainer with whom I have been working with, for over a year. One of the first things that I had observed during the first lesson, is that she knows how to explain herself clearly, when teaching The Science of Motion method. After my mare had been evaluated, I quickly understood what needed to be done to reach her training objectives. The ease with which Solo instills the Science of Motion's theoretical notions and adapts them to each different horse and rider is amazing. She knows exactly how to get the best out of each horse and rider. With every lesson, she shows incredible patience and respects our pace of learning in our journey to discovering all the intricate movements. Each lesson permits us to advance in this method, as she brings our self-awareness in the use of our muscles and our body as a whole. Her capacity in establishing a solid, working relationship and her work ethics is the essence to her teaching, which enhances every student's maximum potential for learning this method. Her generosity, devotion and passion make it a privilege to be taught by her.
